An Entrepreneur's Troika
On Linked In, someone posted the question of which three attributes were most essential to success in entrepreneurism. I liked my answer, and I thought I'd share it here:
VISION - You have to know what it is you're setting out to achieve.
SELF-DEVELOPMENT - If you are not prepared to learn a new skill or approach to your business every single day, you will fail. Many of the things you learn will clash with the identity you've built for yourself, and you have to discard any thoughts of "That's not me." Be prepared to master all the skills you promised yourself you'd never learn.
PURPOSE - Passion is only one of the many side-effects of purpose. Know yourself to the extent that you understand what drives you, how you are driven, and what you consistently do about it. If you are truthful with yourself about this, it will be easy to weed the projects you are motivated to complete from those that will wear you down.
