Finding Sam Bailey
Hey Everybody,
This week has been a big one. With the completion of the 4th draft, I sent copies out to everyone I could think of for feedback and advice, and immediately heard back from the two actors I most wanted to work with on the project. In point of fact, the characters of Sam and Max are absolutely modeled after my experiences with these two gentlemen.
On the one hand, both guys were fully prepared to get behind the project, and they got along together fantastically. My impulses in writing the script were dead on, and that's always gratifying!
On the other hand, they dished out so much helpful feedback, and helped me wrap my head around so many gnawing problems with the script, that the current draft has become an embarrassment. Right now, I'm feverishly working away on a fifth draft. In the meantime, if you haven't read the fourth, I beg you to hold off for two weeks while I affect changes.
With great pride, I hereby announce that the part of Sam Bailey will be played by my longtime friend and collaborator, Aaron Lyons. At some point, I'll update this blog and www.8sidedfilms.com with photos. In the meantime, here's Aaron's websites:

Max DeStefano, the co-starring role of the film, will go to Chris DeChristopher, for whom I have deep respect and affection. Chris's IMDb can be found here:

Both Aaron and Chris will be co-producers as well, working with me to pool the resources, people, and marketing efforts that a film like Sam Bailey requires. In every respect, Sam Bailey is a very close film - very much a labor of love - and there are no two men alive I'd rather make this movie with.
Thank you, gentlemen!
Let's show 'em how it's done.
