The St. Augustine is out of drydock.

This is just a quick update: in the middle of my job search, I got my rewrites done on St. Augustine's Ice and I've sent the first few copies out for reading.  Surprisingly little had to change when I pulled out the antagonists and made it strictly a disaster drama, and it's a testament to the strength of the Catholic themes that focusing on them exclusively cost me so few story beats.

All in all, it was far more quick and painless than I expected, and in some cases the characters became a lot richer for it.

For those that don't know, St. Augustine's Ice sets a classic tale of trial and redemption in the cold space between the stars.

Former priest Michael Parish dies in a deep space accident that leaves his mining vessel, the St. Augustine, crippled in the asteroid belt.  Those left alive, including his daughter Jude, measure their faith in a fight for survival against the harshest conditions imaginable.
