Making Way for Surgery
This is an update for all my colleagues, and for the folks looking to capitalize on my screenwriting talents over the next two months or so:
On Monday, I return to work at Unified Pictures for the week prior to my operation. On the 28th of April, a week from Monday, I have my surgery and I'll likely be away from the office for a day or two. There will also be a number of check-ups, including one in the middle of this coming week, so I'm likely to be in and out.
As far as meetings go, I won't be mobile on my own and I've made arrangements with my coworkers to get in and out of Unified. Anyone looking to sit down and talk with me in person would earn extra brownie points by making the trip to the studio, and would get a tour of the company thrown in as added incentive.
Nothing is on hold, everything is moving forward, and aside from a handful of days the week after next, I expect to be more or less in full forward motion from here on in. If travelling out to Northridge is que impossible, then the cell phone and the modem are always on, and Unified does have a fax.
While no surgery is routine, I'm going in for what amounts to an ordinary (if severe) sports injury at the USC Hospital, I've been eating raw for a year and a half, I bike 20 miles a day at least, I don't drink, I don't smoke, and I'm healing as we speak - it doesn't get any better. Now that those issues are in hand, my primary task is to fuel my career and all the fantastic developments currently underway .
While my injury may bleed over into pre-production for Receiver, I'll be healed long before we roll camera.
Thank you all for your support, and I send everyone my love and blessings.
